| Course Objectives: |
The aim of this course is to study German sentence construction and analysis with a syntactic approach. At this point, the distinction between main sentence (with simple structure) and clause (which allows compound sentence), especially relative clauses (Relativsatz), which are one of the most common clause types in German, and the conjunction 'dass', which functions as subject or object as a sentence element. These are clauses formed with . In addition, after a brief review of the passive voice sentences , which also are frequently encountered in German, and the review of modal verbs, followed by the usage of passive voice with these types of verbs (Passiv mit Modalverben) are also covered. |
| Course Contents: |
In the German Grammar I course, the basic concepts and topics of German grammar are mentioned and emphasized. A review and overview of Grammar topics at the basic and intermediate level (A1; A2; B1) are provided. |
| Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit (LO): |
- 1- The student learns basic grammatical concepts about German Grammar.
- 2- The student learns to name German linguistic formations through basic grammatical concepts in German Grammar.
- 3- The student learns to analyze German linguistic formations through basic grammatical concepts in German Grammar.
- 4- The student learns to analyze German sentences from a linguistic perspective, using a syntactic approach. In this way, his/her own sentence-making skills in German develop.
