Dersin Amacı: | Bu ders geniş bir perspektifte yakın zamandaki ülkeler arası göç hareketlerini, göçmenleri, mültecileri ve ekonomik göçmenleri olduğu kadar geri dönüş yapan göçmenleri ve expat’leri inceleyecektir. Göçmenlerin yerleştikleri ülkelerde karşılanış biçimini mercek altına alıp, değişik ulusal ve uluslararası politikaların etkisi hakkında kanıta dayalı çıkartımlar yapmaya çalışılacak. Aynı zamanda ulusal ve uluslararası medyanın göçmenlik hakkındaki algıyı nasıl biçimlendirdiğini tartışılacak. Göçmen topluluklarına dışardan bakan bu yaklaşımların yanısıra, bu ders öğrencileri göçmen topluluklarının yerleştikleri ülkede kendilerini nasıl gördüğünü ve kendi aidiyet ve bulundukları topluma katılım duygularını araştırmayı teşvik edecektir. Göçmen toplulukları hakkında bu yarı-içerden bakışı ve anlayışı oluşturmak üzere, öğrenciler göçmenlerin oluşturduğu sosyal medyayı ve kültürel üretimleri inceleyecektir. |
