Course Objectives: This course aims to introduce the students to a wide range of disciplinary familiarity and options, to interdisciplinary thinking and interactions, and to the field strengths of Kadir Has University.
Course Contents: The interconnections of imagination, reality, science, and society, interdisciplinary topics and interactions: Chemistry of love, the love of chemistry. The architecture of the city: Istanbul and Izmir. Communications in the arts and politics. Constitution, laws, and society. Successful branding and marketing in business and personal life. Societal opinions and governmental policies. Probability and statistics: Intelligently dealing with uncertainty.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit (LO):
  • 1- To understand the complexity of chemistry and how it directly affects our body and society
  • 2- To understand the formation, dynamic, and differentiation of the city through her architecture, in a cross-regional comparative manner.
  • 3- To understand how to effectively communicate in the arts and in politics, and the similarities and differences between the two.
  • 4- To understand how the myriad of laws and the Constitution affect each other and reflect society.
  • 5- To understand how present, strategize, and assess oneself in societal and professional life.
  • 6- To understand how and how much societal opinions and governmental policies mutually influence each other.
  • 7- To be able to assess and benefit from large, incomplete, and societally relevant data.
  • 8- To think and act in a creative interdisciplinary manner.
  • 9- To locate interdisciplinary people and resources.
