Course Objectives: The course objective is to study the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and related instruments.
Course Contents: The territorial sea, the exclusive economic zone, the high seas, the continental shelf, and the International Seabed Area are studied in the course.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit (LO):
  • 1- Student learns the content of the international law of the sea.
  • 2- Student learns the maritime zones and the jurisdiction of the States in maritime zones.
  • 3- Student learns the legal problems to be arised between the States and the dispute resolution mechanisms regarding these problems..
