As a result of taking this course, the students will: - Learn the fundamentals of information processing approach - Learn the different theories on human attentional processes - Improve scientific paper reading and criticizing skills |
| Course Contents: |
This course aims to introduce one of the most popular topics in cognitive/experimental psychology – attention. Different attentional processes and mechanism underlying those will be investigated not only by using the textbook but also reading and discussing experimental studies each week. The topics will vary from orienting and searching in space, attending to objects, modulation of attentional process by emotions and memory driven attentional guidance. At the end of this course students will acquire knowledge on the different types of attentional processes and various experimental paradigms used to investigate those processes. |

- 1- Demonstrating breadth and depth of knowledge in major concepts of human attention processes
- 2- Demonstrating advanced knowledge of theories and research findings by means of critical thinking
