Course Objectives: -Provide students with extensive understanding of contemporary photography, its vocabulary and aesthetics.
-Make students proficient in developing photography based projects from start to finish.
-Get students up to date with novel/ experimental approaches in contemporary photography.
-Allow students to think out of the box in terms of what is possible within the photographic medium.
Course Contents: This class aims to provide the students with the knowledge, tools and experience necessary to develop an advanced photography project from start to finish. This class will constitute theoretical lectures, technical demonstrations, roundtable discussions and feedback sessions.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit (LO):
  • 1- Creating opportunities for students to merge photography with other mediums/ techniques
  • 2- Improving students' presentation skills.
  • 3- Improving students' project development skills.
  • 4- Expanding students' theoretical knowledge in contemporary photography.
  • 5- Getting students familiar with exhibition design.
Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods: Learning activities include lectures, roundtable discussions, feedback sessions and technical demonstrations.
Students are required to present their assignments to the class during the feedback sessions. No presentation will result in a reduced final grade. (-20 points)
Presentation quality of the assignments will contribute to the final score of an assignment.
Students are required to submit the assignments on the due date.
