Course Objectives: The aim of the course is to increase the students' understanding of the role of research in architecture. It also aims to improve students' ability to interpret, evaluate, conduct, present research results, and to increase their understanding of data, information and knowledge.
Course Contents: This course provides an introduction to the design and conduct of research projects in applied fields. Qualitative and quantitative research methods and hypothesis formulations regarding these methods, literature survey, data collection, verification and analysis of the data will be extensively covered. Each session will focus on a specific aspect of research design, strategy, and methods.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit (LO):
  • 1- LO1: To provide students with skills for designing, evaluating, conducting research projects and presenting research results.
  • 2- LO2: To provide students with knowledge to be able to critically review and evaluate existing literature, research methods and strategies
  • 3- LO3: To provide students with knowledge to be able to evaluate and choose the research strategies and methods that suit their objectives
