Course Objectives: 1. To provide students with an understanding of the general principles and theories of insurance law. 2. To provide students with an understanding of the insurance system and insurance contracts.
Course Contents: Concept of insurance, characteristics of insurance contracts, auditing of insurance companies, formation of the insurance contracts, rights and duties of the insurer, rights and duties of the insured, termination of insurance agreements, compensation and subrogation of the insurer.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit (LO):
  • 1- To comprehend concepts of insurance and insurance agreement.
  • 2- To recognize the formation and characteristics of insurance contracts.
  • 3- To distinguish the different types of insurance contracts.
  • 4- To comprehend the auditing of insurance companies.
  • 5- To have knowledge about the rights of the insurer and insurant.
  • 6- To comprehend the concept of risk, risk realization and compensation payments.
Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods: Lecture, question&answer, case studies and discussion.
