This page, prepared within the scope of the Bologna Process, has been structured as an information resource through which our students can access up-to-date and official information regarding program learning outcomes, course plans, and course contents.
The adaptation procedures carried out at our University, as well as the academic principles and regulations determined by the Senate, are implemented in accordance with the rules defined in the SPARKS Student Information System. Academic processes specific to each program are conducted in line with the decisions taken by the relevant faculties and departments.
Students who require more detailed information are advised to contact their respective Department Head and academic advisors.
Department of Industrial Engineering was established in 2003 under the Faculty of Engineering which later evolved to the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences. The first students to the Graduate Programme in Industrial Engineering under the Graduate School of Science and Engineering were accepted in the Academic Year of 2009-2010 and the first M.S. degrees were awarded in 2011.
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be awarded with Master of Science in Industrial Engineering (The Qualifications Frameworks in the European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA): Level 2, European Qualifications Framework (EQF): Level 7)
The applicants of the programme are required to hold a B.S. degree and to have scored at least 55 in the quantitative section of Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) and 65 in the Interuniversity Council Language Examination. ALES score requirement is not applicable to international students. International language examination (TOEFL etc.) scores are acceptable for all appliants according to the equivalencies as imposed by the regulations of the Higher Education Council. The appllicants fulfilling these requirements are further interviewed. (Detailed information: http://www.khas.edu.tr)

Students are required to successfully complete the curriculum accepted by the Senate corresponding to 120 ECTS credits in total; that is, coursework with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.50/4.00 and an M.S. thesis.
Due to increasing dependency on natural resources at today’s technological and industrial developments, utilizing the scarce resources has become one to the most critical areas of research. Given these constantly evolving business and working conditions, industrial engineers excel in areas such as management of scarce resources, development of alternative production policies and coordination of interdisciplinary projects. Industrial Engineering is a branch of engineering that involves human, machines, materials and similar elements and develops system, model and method to analyse, plan, organize, monitor and improve manufacturing and service systems.
Basic research areas are production planning and inventory control, manufacturing automation, manufacturing systems design and analysis, cost management, operations research, decision analysis, quality management, and human factors engineering.
All courses are taught in English.
Master of Science in degrees in thesis and non-thesis options are available.

Why Industrial Engineering Graduate Program of KHAS?
Our graduates have the skills to solve industrial engineering problems in both production and service systems using science and engineering principles, and to determine, identify, analyze and solve complex problems that arise during the operation of industrial and service systems. Additionally, due to future changing conditions, students are taught to follow scientific and technological innovations and renew themselves.
Program Outcomes
Graduates have job opportunities in both service and production sectors in the following areas; operation research, production planning and control, quality control and/or management, ergonomics, facility design and plant layout, system analysis.
Upon successful completion of the graduate program, candidates can apply to doctoral programs.
